I proudly present, The Hoshizora Foundation, my new family since September, 2014. I join in this activity to help underpriveleged child In Indonesia so that they have access to an education, and realize their full potential, creating a better world to live in. I love seeing children struggle to make their dreams come true. I personally haven’t make my dreams come true yet. But nothing could bother me, I know. And as time goes by, I keep going forward to achieve my goals and also help another children to go confidently in the direction of their dreams. So during the later, together we will live the life we've imagined.
Hoshizora was born from an awareness of the problems of street children in Indonesia. The idea and concept of Hoshizora was created by six Indonesian university students studying in Japan, who looked for a way to help underprivileged Indonesian children gain access to education. Hoshizora became an official organization on May 2nd, 2006. Hoshizora launched its first generation of foster siblings on May 20th, 2006, connecting sponsors (Kakak Bintang = elder siblings) to unfortunate children in Indonesia (Adik Bintang = younger siblings) who lacked access to education.
The Foster Siblings Program is the main program of Hoshizora. Through this program, you can support the education and development of one (or more) underprivileged child in Indonesia. In Hoshizora, the sponsor is called a Kakak Bintang (The Indonesian word “Kakak” means elder sibling, “Bintang” = star) and the child being supported is called an Adik Bintang (“Adik” means younger sibling).
A Kakak Bintang is a sponsor who supports his or her Adik Bintang’s education by providing funds over a predetermined period. The donation is used to pay his or her Adik Bintang’s educational expenses, such as school fees, training fees, uniform, shoes, books, etc. In addition to this financial support, Hoshizora also encourages the Kakak to interact and contribute to the social and mental development of the Adik. Kakak Bintangs are located not only in Indonesia, but all over the world such as in Japan, US, Canada, Germany, Australia, Korea, and France, etc.
